The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins 33-27 in Chip Kelly’s debut. There were many highlights, such as LeSean McCoy running wild, but all was not positive for the birds.
After re-watching the game, here are the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly from Monday nights beat down of the Redskins.
1. The Offense.
The Eagles offense soared to the tune of 443 total yards and won the time of possession battle 32:39-27:21. Furthermore, Washington’s defense was gassed midway through the first quarter as Chip Kelly’s bunch kept up the pressure.
The offense was led by Michael Vick (15-25 for 203 yards and two touchdowns and 54 yards rushing and another touchdown), LeSean McCoy (184 yards rushing and one touchdown), and DeSean Jackson (seven receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown).
2. Mychal Kendricks.
The “Angry Bird” totaled 10 tackles, six of which were solo, and had one tackle for a loss. Furthermore, Kendricks made sure that Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III was on the ground any chance he got. Kendricks flew around the field and was the best player on the defense on either side. Kendricks is primed for a breakout season in year two.
