This week, I’m trying to break down why certain teams are failing, I looked at all of the 0-5 and 1-4 teams in the many leagues I’m playing in and have compiled some interesting research concerning the makeup of a losing team.
1. High draft picks are the kiss of death. – Some names that are occurring frequently are AP, Brees, Foster , Brady and Rice. While some are having bad seasons, others like AP illustrate the negative of the high draft pick, followed by your next pick being after most of the studs are gone. You become totally reliant on that pick and if your other options don’t pan out, you are screwed.
Solution: trading down in exchange for a case of beer sounds like a win/win. Also, don’t be afraid to trade that big fancy name for 2 solid performers this year.
2. Stay away from anyone named Jackson. This year, Stephen was a killer because we all banked on him being on the team that let M Turner loose would equal victory however an injury has turned this dream into a nightmare.
