On the night that the Philadelphia Eagles retired Donovan McNabb’s number 5, and on the night that Andy Reid made his return to Philadelphia after being let go just a season ago, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 26-16.
It was not a pretty game for the Eagles as the topic of conversation was turnovers. The Eagles had five turnovers in the loss, four of them coming in the first half. Despite the numerous turnovers, the Eagles still were given several opportunities to stay in the game. However, when your opposition’s time of possession is 39:07 and yours is just 20:53.
On the bright side, the Eagles defense played well after an abysmal performance against the Chargers last week. The defense held the Chiefs offense to just one touchdown and four field goals.
On the other side the offense struggled mightily throughout the game. Desean Jackson was shut down for large majority of the game, and the offensive line was simply falling apart. Jason Kelce, at one point snapped the ball and it hit off either his behind or Herremans leg resulting in one of the Eagles five turnovers on the night.
