Michael Vick and Nick Foles entered Eagles Training Camp this year to compete for the starting quarterback position. Although it seemed like both quarterbacks struggled to pick up the new system at first, Vick began to pull away from Foles and won the job. This could potentially be Foles’ opportunity to get some revenge.
During the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Giants. Vick pulled up limping after a making a play with his legs and running out of bounds. He would leave the game shortly after and not return for the rest of the contest. In his absence, Foles took over the offense and was able to lead the Eagles to a victory with a little help from the defense.
As the Eagles begin to look ahead to a match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it looks like they will have to do so without Vick. Instead, Foles will get his first start of the year while Vick is given time to rest his leg. This start could serve as more then just a stop gap for Vick’s return.
