ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cleveland Browns Running Back Trent Richardson has been traded to the Indianapolis Colts for their 2014 first round draft pick.
This move gives the up and coming Colts , the 1st ( Andrew Luck) and 3rd ( Richardson) picks from the 2012 draft and the Rebuilding mode Browns 2 first round picks in the 2014 draft.
I’m trying to wrap my head around both the NFL and Fantasy implications of this deal.
Could be a risky move by ex Eagles GM Joe Banner as Trent was poised to be a stud running back in the NFL. No guarantee that they will be able to get anyone as good in next years draft. On the other hand, the Browns were struggling even with the 3rd overall back, so the 2 picks in 2014 could really help.
As mentioned above, Indy bolsters an already strong , young squad and looks to improve on an impressive season that ended with a playoff appearance last year.
