I am a self-admitted Temple University fanatic. As a freshman at Temple, I helped to start the “Temple Super Fans” group for the football team. We lasted all of one wretched season under former coach Bobby Wallace (a 19-71 overall record will deflate even the biggest super fans). But my love of Temple sports was not relegated to just my time on campus. It still lives today.
I am a Temple fan and a Temple booster, which brings me to the fantastic heist that Howie Roseman and the Eagles pulled off today.
The Eagles traded fourth-string running back (and inevitable cut) Felix Jones for former Temple Owl (and linebacker) Adrian Robinson.
Robinson was a freak in college. he finished his college career with 22.5 sacks and 33.5 tackles for a loss.
Despite those numbers, Robinson would go undrafted in the 2012 draft, but would sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent rookie.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin would call Robinson a “one-trick pony,” regarding his ability to only rush the quarterback, but that is what his current team needs.
