I know what you are thinking… The Phillies already have shortstop figured out for not only 2014, but, more than likely, 2015 as well. You would be absolutely correct in thinking that. Jimmy Rollins had his opportunity to be traded out of Philadelphia this year for the chance to once again play in the post-season. He would have had no shortage of potential suitors at the trade deadline, garnering interest from Detroit to Los Angeles. A trade to the streaking Dodgers would have given him the opportunity to go home to California – an opportunity to play in front of friends and family day-in and night-out. But he chose to stay with the team that drafted him in the second round of the 1996 Major League Baseball draft. He yearns to be one of the all-time Phillies greats and can you blame him?
